Is Daughtry a christian band?
Is Daughtry a Christian band? I heard that their song Home was #12 on the hot Christian songs chart.
I think that it's cool that they are helping people around the world that are in need. I think more people that are rich and famous should help out with any extra $$ they have to make the world a better place.

Think Daughtry is kinda like Switchfoot. The band members of Switchfoot are Christians but as a group they prefer not to be classified as a gospel rock band. But for Daughtry, it could be only Chris who is Christian, but his faith is evident in the songs he writes and the passion he sings with - just like Switchfoot.

Their music is universal. but not christian.

Chris is a Christian, Absent Element was a Christian Rock band, but Daughtry isn't.
Daughtry is kind of like the band Creed in a way. Scott Stapp(Creed's singer) was Christian, as was the other members, but they refused to be labeled as a "Christian Band" because they didn't only write Christian music, they wrote music that they chose too, whether it be about God, life, the future, the world etc., . They wanted to appeal to all, and make a difference to everyone, and not have people not hear them and their music because they would only appear on Christian stations.
I see Daughtry kind of similar in a way, because, while I don't know if the rest of the band are Christian, they do have a few songs that can be seen as Christian, but can mean different things to other people, so while a song could mean one thing to you, it could mean another to someone else.
Either way, they rock.

The people should not fear their government, the government should fear it's people

Daughtry's songs are so universal and from the heart that they can be considered rock, pop or even Christian rock. Like rmb has said, his old band Absent Element was a Christian rock band and Chris is as well.

I know that Chris is. But there are still quite a few christian stations that still play "Home". That was actually one of the first places I heard it. It was the Spirit FM 90.5 in Tampa.
Chris is a christian and he did sing for another band before idol. Absent element was a christian rock band, but I don't think DAUGHTRY is.. I could be wrong though.
