Noel never really got it that bad.
I've had this thing for about 3 weeks. There's alot of nasty stuff going around.
I thought I'd have to go to the doctor, but I think finally it's getting better.

I am getting so.. pissed because they keep saying I can't get the Cubs games on TV and then I have to hear that the Brewers won on the radio news the next day. I get so.. mad. I did think of you when I heard that though because I couldn't remember which day you were going to the game. Well tell Noel I said I hope he feels better. As far as the weekend of the 27th, Wendy is getting baptized and having her marriage blessed by the church that weekend and I am going to that so maybe next time.

I didn't look at them yet but I'm sure they are great!
I'm back only for a minute though. Have to get ready for that Brewers/Cubs game today. (My Brewers beat your Cubs yesterday- good game! Tuesday night was a good one too!)
Feeling a bit better, but now Noel is sick.
Miss you girls too....we have to get together sometime soon.
I know it's a road trip but on the 27th, we are going out to see Mt Olive for Noel's b'day. There's gonna be a bunch of people going if you and Wendy and your hubbys want to make a trip to Brookfield for the weekend.......it would be a great time!

really I am, but it's just not working out in my employer's favor today. LOL. I am on hold right now, so that counts as work, right? I am ALL ALONE in my own little office in the back EVERY day, but something is keeping me from working today for some reason. Probably because I worked my a** off yesterday!!!

I am at work. I REALLY need to close this site and GET TO WORK ALREADY or it's going to be the end of the workday before I know it and I'll be scrambling to make it look like I worked all day. LOL There's just too much to read and post on here though. Especially since I'm in my own office ALL ALONE all day.

I keep forgetting to ask you, where did you get that picture of you and Joey? He looks freaking hot!!! I love it when he wears those funky hats. It's sexy!

He sure is a nut. What is the hottest spicies nut on the planet called? If it doesn't have a name, it should be called Joey Barnes. LOL

Drunk-on-Daughtry - I was seriously thinking the same thing.
I wondered about all the thumb-up's when I first saw them too.
I have a feeling he/they may have been instructed to keep it clean - though it was way funnier the other way !! It kept things interesting watching for the crazy things Joey does. He's a nut !

I will never again miss that too.

meeting you too Shannen. I wish I would have stayed afterwards to meet the guys again. I LOVE THAT PART OF A DAUGHTRY CONCERT!!!! I just hope they do it next tour. If not Chris, then at least the other guys. I still need an individual with Brian and I would NEVER pass up the chance to get my picture with Joey again, EVER!!!!

I didn't do VIP this time, but I like to look at the pictures anyway. The guys look particularly good in these. I think it's because they had that long break, they look well rested and fresh. I LOVE the one with the guys hands on the pregnant belly. Brian actually looks like he's really trying to feel the baby kick. TOO CUTE!!!! Also, what is up with the thumbs up? It looks like the theme of this VIP, especially for Joey. Maybe it's his way of keeping it out of his pants. LOL

What a great review...Glad to meet some of the DO gals. What a long wait in line....My feet hurt so bad after the show. I'm very happy for some of you who stuck it out to meet the guys(lucky)!!!!

Thank you for sharing. I was in the front row off to the right of the stage (RIGHT IN FRONT OF BRIAN) This was my 7th show and my first time getting FRONT ROW, and when JP looked right into my eyes and said "HI" to me I know how you felt. I am so.. happy for you that you got to experience this with your son. He sounds like a GREAT son and that is a true testament to the kind of mother you have been. Congrats on your magical night and I hope you start to feel better physically real soon.

TO "DAUGHTRY" AND THEIR FANS

Okay, here's the review for the Allegan County Fair in Allegan, MI on Sept. 11th. It's really long and I hope no one minds and enjoys it.

Just a little background, before I get into the review for Daughtry’s Concert at the Allegan County Fair on Sept. 11.

Voting on VH-1 was my full time job until May when I was diagnosed w/shingles. Very painful. It affects the nerves at whatever location you happen to break out (it is caused by the chickenpox virus and you had to of had chicken pox when you were younger to get shingles). Well, I broke out on my right side from my ring finger to under my arm into the right chest area as well as the right back area. It was so painful. I could no longer vote on VH-1 and was really upset as FLT fell on the countdown. My voting on VH-1 averaged anywhere from 15,000 to 20,000 votes a week.

As I said, it was my full time job as I am on disability with four herniated discs in my neck area. These herniations cause pinch nerves on my left side. So I have pinched nerves on my left side, and nerve pain on my right side from the shingles. I have been pretty miserable, very depressed, isolated, and unable to do anything.

When WAN hit the countdown, I started voting again, but it was slow going in the beginning as I still have nerve pain from the shingles, just not as intense. So each week I have been able to vote a little more working my way back to my normal voting total.

I wear a neck brace and a wrist guard for the pinched nerves on my left side, especially when I am in crowds. So I had to wear them to the concert as we had general admission tickets and would be standing amongst the crowd.

On Tuesday, Sept. 9, my son and his girlfriend surprised me w/tickets to the concert. I was totally in shock. He said to me – “Mom, I know how much you have wanted to see Daughtry and you have been so miserable lately, I thought this would lift your spirits. Well, of course, no doubt about that. I proceeded to try and find something to wear as I had lost a lot of weight when I was sick, but I did finally manage to find something that didn’t hang on me too badly. I wanted to take a sign with me to the concert, although I am not very creative and I really didn’t have anything to make a sign with. So I took a picture out of a large frame and wrote on the back of it - I AM A “DAUGHTRY” LOVER.

So, come Thursday morning we set out for Allegan, approximately 4 hours away. We checked into a hotel around 2:30 and left for the fairgrounds about 5:30 believing we had plenty of time. When we got near the fairgrounds, traffic was backed up about a mile, so it was a snail’s pace into the fairgrounds. I told my son to crank up the volume on Daughtry’s CD we had playing as we had the windows down and anyone who was parking outside the fairgrounds and walking in could enjoy Daughtry on their way in. We got there by 6:45 so we didn’t do too badly and we were lucky with parking as there was one handicap parking space left and they directed us to it. The weather was cooperating so far as rain was in the forecast.

We had general admission tickets, so we were down on the track. We found a spot on the very far right of the stage right in front although the stage didn’t even come near to where we were, but was way better then being in the back. What was so cool is that my son remembered our binoculars which are hi powered and it was like having Chris singing right in front of me. Like I could have just reached out and touched him. That was pretty cool.

The opening band was a local band from Grand Rapids called “Pop Evil”. I have never heard of them and even though their music was a little bit harder then what I'm in to, they put on a great performance.

Now, finally, it was “Daughtry’s” turn. The crowd went totally wild. As soon as they took the stage, it started raining. Thankfully, it only lasted about two minutes. The rest of the night, the weather was great.

Daughtry came out and started with WIW. The crowd was into it right from the beginning to the very end. About 5600 from what I read. With the binoculars, it was like Chris was singing to me. It was like I could have just reached out and touched him. OMG, I was in my glory. Chris stated after a few songs that we were the loudest crowd that they had heard in a while and how much they appreciated that. I’ll tell you, this crowd was really rockin.

It was really difficult for me though to watch thru the binoculars and hold up the sign at the same time, so when they were almost finished with WIW, I held up the sign when Chris started coming over towards the right side of the stage. Even though it was still a distance, he looked right at the sign and pointed to me. I am like jumping up and down and saying, he acknowledged me, he acknowledged me.

Now, you need to know I am 61 years old, weigh about 95 pounds, wearing a wrist splint and a neck brace, and I am going crazy. People thought I was so cute and so crazy at the same time. I had people asking me if they could take a picture of me with my sign at least a half dozen times. I was having so much fun. And my adrenalin had to really be pumping, as I wasn’t feeling any pain or discomfort from my physical problems. It was like they didn’t even exist.

I am not exactly sure in what order they played, but I know they played: WIW, USE TO, BREAKDOWN, INO, OY, HELTER SKELTER, HOME, FLT, WAN, ALL THESE LIVES, LONG WAY and TABA. Josh Steely also sang a song but I don’t have a clue as to what it was.

Home was especially touching as Chris had asked for a moment of silence in memory of our troops and all those affected by 911. It was so emotional and the silence was broken when Chris started singing “HOME”. They were absolutely amazing and Chris looked as “BEAUTIFUL” AS EVER. I will refrain from saying “hot” as I am old enough to be his mother. All the while, my son really wanted to get me up in front of the stage, but there was no way that was going to happen. They were packed in like sardines and no one was going to move.

So, at the very end of the concert, when they play TABA, my son put me up on his shoulders so I could hold the sign way up in the air as my son wanted to be absolutely sure Chris saw it. Everybody was laughing and cheering us on. And Chris did see it. It was so cool. At the very end of the concert Chris came over to the far right of the stage, looked at me, pointed to me, put his hand over his heart and blew me a kiss. I almost fell off my son’s shoulders as I felt like I was just struck by lightening. It is a “moment” that I will never forget. The only thing sad about the whole thing was that it was like over way too soon. I could have and would have stood there for hours longer if they had kept playing.

Actually I did. I stood there and walked around for hours hoping that Chris would come out. My son said to his girlfriend, I told you we will be the last to leave. She will wait until they kick her out. I told him that I would leave if they wanted to, but he said “No Mom” this is your night, it’s all about you. That was so sweet and thoughtful of them. So I walked around from behind the stage to the front of the stage and had security guards tell me along with others several times we had to leave, but we did not give up. We just kept hanging out. I stood behind the stage by the buses as my son stood lookout in front.

It was about 90 minutes after the concert ended that JP came out. I got him to autograph my sign and got a hug from him. It was funny, he read my sign “I am a Daughtry Lover” and said ME 2 and autographed my sign like that. Couldn’t get a picture with him as my son was in front with the camera, but some girls I was talking to while we kept waiting said she would take my picture with JP and e-mail it to me if I wanted her to. So I did. That was so nice of her. Thought that was pretty cool.

About 45 minutes after JP came out, Joey and Brian came out. Got hugs from them and autographs. It was so cool meeting them too. JP, Joey and Brian were so cool and so very gracious for their fans’ support. They also showed their concern about my welfare as each one asked if I was okay and how long did I have to wear the brace, etc.

Okay, so I got to meet JP, Joey and Brian and that was really cool, and yet I was still yearning to meet Chris. It was getting really late, about 1:00 a.m. by now and I figured my son and his girlfriend wanted to leave. But I had this gut feeling that Chris would show up eventually and my son said, “Mom”, if that’s the way you feel, then we will stay.

About 45 minutes after Joey and Brian came out, Chris did come out. I was standing right on the other side of the fence when he got there and I was like OMG, and all I could say was like IT’S YOU – CHRIS! He laughed. My son was sitting in the background and he started yelling at his girlfriend, where’s the camera? Where’s the camera?

As Chris was autographing my sign, he made a remark that when he checked into the hotel the night before the desk clerk said to him “Oh, you’re the band that’s opening for Pop Evil tomorrow night at the fair”. Chris said his reply (with this look like yeah, right) to the desk clerk was “well, I guess that could happen”. It was so funny how Chris did it.

However, when Chris came out, it started raining again. Not heavy, but enough to feel it. The guy that came out with him said no pictures right now - that Chris will sign what he can but he can’t stay out in this rain. It rained for about 10 minutes and I did get Chris to autograph my sign.

Anyways, it did stop raining, and Chris started posing for pictures with his fans. I was so very fortunate to be one of the ones that was able to have Chris pose with me for a picture. I was in total awe! I got a hug from him, my picture taken with him, and I gave him a light kiss on the cheek just before the picture was taken. I WAS IN DAUGHTRY HEAVEN.

My son says in the picture of Chris and me, I look like a deer caught in headlights. I replied to my son that was because I really was in shock that I was actually standing there next to Chris Daughtry. I never ever thought I would get the awesome opportunity of meeting these guys. Every one of the guys I met is so very sweet and thoughtful. What a great group of guys. I told each and every one of them I thought they were amazing.

AND CHRIS – Chris made my dreams come true and my night one to remember always with his acknowledgement to me while on stage by holding his hand over his heart and blowing me a kiss as well as personally being able to have the chance to meet him.

THANKS, GRATITUDE, AND LOTS OF LOVE TO DAUGHTRY AND PERSONALLY TO CHRIS, JP, JOEY, AND BRIAN for taking the time to come out and giving their fans truly, the most "SPECIAL AND MEMORABLE GIFT OF MEETING THEM".

THIS DAY WILL TRULY STAY IN MY HEART AS ONE OF MY MOST MEMORABLE DAYS OF MY LIFE.

Well now that I've caught up on my sleep, I can give my review. Wendy, Amy and I got in line at about 1 pm so we could get front row. It was a LONG wait, but well worth it because a) I got to hang out and get to know some more of you DO girls which was great AND we got to share in the experience of a FREE soundcheck. FINALLY we got a soundcheck and didn't even have to pay for it. (even though most of it was through the legs of the ushers with cool hats Smiling I was still able to get pictures) So anyway, on with the review. The last few shows that I have been to the fair/summerfest workers have been rude and completely uneducated about what was going on, but these employees were REALLY friendly and helpful. Especially the girl who started stamping our hands and ripping our tickets before she was suppose to. LOL. After our LONG wait the gates FINALLY opened (15 min after originally scheduled) and it was a mad rush for front row, which is when I got separated from my group. I basically saw the concert alone, but it's cool cause I made some MORE new friends during the concert. SORRY WENDY, CHRISSY AND EVERYONE ELSE who I was in line with. I HAD TO GET FRONT ROW. I just figured I'd be too short to see over anyone. But I was right in front of JP and at one point he was searching through the crowd and his eyes stopped right on me and he mouthed "hi" like he recognized me. LOL It wouldn't surprise me, after all the stalking we do. The concert itself was AWESOME!!!!! Chris said "You guys are the loudest crowd we've had in a LONG time" Woo hoo for us Smiling And of coarse just when I thought it couldn't get ANY better, Chris told us all that he realized what today was, thanked our service men and women and asked us all for a moment of silence. The power of such a LOUD crowd going totally silent that quickly REALLY moved me and the fact that Chris had the forethought to do that and THEN follow it up with HOME was just something POWERFUL and hard to explain. This band is truly a class act. I AM TOTALLY MAD THAT WE DIDN'T STAY TO STALK THE BUSES AFTERWARDS THOUGH....I don't know what we were thinking. Well anyway, I am still saying out of ALL seven shows I have been to (even though I didn't get to meet the guys) This was still the best show yet!!!!!! Oh, and it was REALLY great meeting all of you other DO girls in line. See ya next time around.
