Daughtry worthy Cover Songs?

Daughtry worthy Cover Songs?

I know we all prefer their original stuff, but it's also enjoyable to hear them take a cover song and kick it's a$$ and do it better than the original.
If you could hear Daughtry cover any song from any era or genre, what song would you choose?

WHITESNAKE SLIDE IT IN!!!! OMG!!! PERFECT FOR THE BAND!! IF YOU DONT KNOW IT LOOK IT UP ON YOU TUBE IT IS PERFECT!!!!

Caught a video of him and Jason Wade singing it @ the Annex in TX a year or two ago but the quality was poor. I'd love to hear Chris sing it at a show sometime though!

I can't think of just one. Everytime I hear a new cover they have done, no matter the song, I just love it. Add Chris's voice to anything, and it turns to gold if you ask me.

i would love to hear chris sing creed's "what if" again. i know we have heard him sing it before (and he sang it well) but its such a good song. besides, with the rest of the guys now im sure they would do a sick version of it. another one for me would be live "lightning crashes". For some reason i can just hear Chris's vocals all over that one.

(and for the fun of it..motley crue, dr. feelgood. lol i can just see the guys going crazy with that one)

"Shed Some Light" by Shinedown - I could just imagine imagine Joey on the bongos, and the guys playing guitar while Chris displays his powerful voice on this one.

And also...I really want a FULL studio acoustic version of Soundgarden's "Fell on Black Days"...saw the live version on Youtube...Chris just sounds so haunting and beautiful on it! Laughing out loud

My Daughtry Outings: December 5, 2007 - Nokia Theatre - New York, NY
August 3, 2008 - Tom's River Fest - Tom's River, NJ

Great Idea for a topic. Its funny, cuz I was thinking back to my hair band days when I read the question.... love Juke Box Hero too Heather.... anyof those songs that are "cowboy songs" ( or thats what I call them) Chris was briiliant with Wanted Dead or Alive and Blaze of Glory. In the same vein... Bad Company by Bad Company...

Even tho most of the 80s stuff has high high vocalsand it would sound so much different... what about Dreams in the Dark by Badlands?

I Remember You - Skid Row
In the Still of the Night - Whitesnake
Still Loving You or Rock You like a Hurricane - Scorpions

** I have a serious case of OCD~ Obsessed w/ Chris Daughtry~~

Not a huge Pearl Jam fan, till I heard Chris cover Black which I now love!

It was not one of the my favorite songs from PJ, I didn't like it back when....., but now, probably because of Chris and his grunge connection, I'm playing it again. And now I know the words, at least the chorus... ha..... For the longest I thought it was "Jeremy spoken that day" found out much later it was "Jeremy spoke IN class today". I would like to see Chris do this song. I can see him doing that whole Woooo Woooo thing.

~~in these ever changing days your the one thing that remains~~

I did think of another.
"Control" by Puddle of Mudd, only cuz I wast to hear Chris say; "I love the way you smack my a$$." LOL

Too little sleep again. Smiling

:)

That's a really good question....There's so many songs out there that would be perfect for the guys to redo. Smiling

Off the top of my head there's

Hotel California by the Eagles
Tears in Heaven by Eric Clapton
Imagine by John Lennon

Wow, this actually would take some time to come up with a perfect song....Smiling

Dawn White

I would love to hear him sing
"Dream On" by Aerosmith

Can you imagine Chris saying "with the lights down is less dangerous, here we are now, entertain us..."?

Other song that I love is One Last Breath from Creed.

with this question.

I knew it had to be something showcasing all the guys superior talents, but especially somethin that JP could shine with and Chris could belt his big heart out on.

So I thought about it a lot...there's so many great songs that the guys could amaze us with.

What about "Sunshine of Your Love"...

One of the most recognized base lines and lyrical innuendo...

I'm not sure there is a way to improve upon Clapton, but if anyone could do it, it would be our boys.

were just discussing this the other night. I think they should cover "November Rain" by Guns n Roses. Hubby totally agreed!!! That would be so freakin awesome!

-Melanie
www.myspace.com/upsidedownmemory

and one more thing: I remember Chris saying that if he would of made it to the next week on Idol where they got to pick a song... he would of covered "Dream On" by Aerosmith.... Yeah, that basically would of been indescribable!!

So, I'll say that as well... I've seen a video of him & Bucky I think covering it at a bar somewhere... but ya know... I want a real version.
