WOW!!!
I can't believe how great this was. My husband and I attended, and it was awesome! Every time I talk about the concert that's the word I use, but somehow it doesn't seem adequate. We didn't get tickets until sometime in February from Stub Hub; they ended up being awesome (there's that word again). DAUGHTRY rocks!! Bon Jovi was... yes, you guessed it... awesome!
I got great pictures, and I have looked at them daily!
I love DAUGHTRY!!

awwww! loved your review! You see it from another side and it is cool to hear you speak so highly of Chris. Jon has been amazing to Chris, I just love him for that! Just know that Daughtry has a very strong support system in his fans, we will be with him until the end! He has done so much for all of us and we are forever grateful. He is a beautiful person! LOVE THAT MAN!!

Great Friends, Great music, all smiles!
Late with a review, but I read a few here and had to say I think the best time at a show is when you're with "Daughtry friends". All the peeps I've met through this site.
Even if we don't sit together, we text, wave, compare views after the show.
I have a blast at every show knowing I've got you all to share the moment with!
Airlie, nice to meet you too, finally over lunch.
DAUGHTRY fans ROCK!
I have seen Chris and Jon sing twice now together. I'm with you Lisa.G...you can tell that Jon respects CHris and thinks a lot of him. I'm very proud of Chris and ALL his accomplishments!
This is my soap box=
I hate the stage was so small for our guys at this show, I feel Greensboro Coliseum didn't show Chris and the boys enough love this go 'round!
This was the second venue I've seen Daughtry open for BJ and each stage is different, but gboro could have done better. But I love the new song,'You don't belong' and I love how much intensity each song is peformed with. Great job again guys! I am looking forward to the second album with all the guys rockin' out! Thanks! Krista
Sometimes it is good to be just a fan......
As many of you know I attended this show with my best friend Pam. We have been friends for 20 years and this was sort of like an anniversary party for us. It was the best concert I have ever seen! This show reminded me what it was like to be "just a fan". The first poster I had on my wall as a teen was of Jon Bon Jovi. It was so exciting to see him again ( I saw them in the 80's with Cinderella opening...LOL). He is an awesome performer. I thought Daughtry was great as always and getting to hear YDB for the first time live was great! Chris is really enjoying the tour. Watching him perform along side Jon is somewhat surreal. I just keep thinking " I can't believe I know him...." Listening to Jon speak so highly of Chris, his fans, and family brought tears to my eyes! I teared up again when he came out and sang Hallelujah. I believe it is one of the most honestly beautiful songs ever written and to those who question Jons choice of this for an encore I can only say the fact that he loves the song enough to include it in his live show speaks volumes. I left the show wanting more and have been trying to figure out how to get to another show before the tour ends. Kenneth will be attending one soon, but I can't go to that one! I know most of you will probably be going to see Daughtry, but Bon Jovi puts on one hell of a show too! Go, enjoy, it is the hottest ticket around! You can check out my pics from the show at www.myspace.com/crazytracey13. They are not great....my regular camera died during YDB and the rest were taken with my cell....
BEST. CONCERT. EVER!!!!!!!
This was the BEST concert I have ever been to! Daughtry and Bon Jovi ROCKED MY WORLD!!!! I already love "You Don't Belong" and am looking forward to the new CD. I have to admit, though, Chris and Bon Jovi fooled me. I don't read a lot of Internet reports so I figured they would sing "Wanted Dead or Alive" together. It surprised me to see Chris coming out during "Blaze of Glory," but as usual, it was awesome!! Words cannot express how awesome it was to see both Daughtry and Bon Jovi together. You had a legitimate rock icon, almost a rock god, in Bon Jovi and the future of the industry, Chris Daughtry, together on the same stage! Great concert guys, I look forward to seeing you again, maybe a little closer to home at the Joel in Winston!
--
Lay it down my friend, close your eyes, breathe in, and i will take you, THERE AND BACK AGAIN!!!
Well Said Lisa!
I totally agree! It is a complete honor for Chris...you can see it in both of their faces when they sing. CHris is estatic and Jon is proud! Still my very fav moment was in Greensboro when they hugged and Jon smiled so big and and said "Welcome Home Baby"!
My pics are up on my myspace
I did get my pictures up on myspace, not all of them just the better ones! I did have to start watermarking them, just because.
When going through it, I was just reminded of WHAT AN HONOR it is for Chris to sing Blaze with Jon!! Jon is a VERY ANAL musician that doesnt like ANYONE else on his stage and you can see it in his eyes how he truly believes in Chris, I dont recall ANY TOUR that the opening band member got on stage with Jon and SANG one of HIS SONGS with him.. AND BLAZE isnt a BON JOVI song but a JON BON JOVI SOLO SONG!! Sure Big and Rich sang with them at the prudential shows BUT they co wrote We got it goin on, and Sugarlands Jennifer Nettles was on the last CD with them.
Its TRULY AN HONOR!! (not sure why all american rejects performed on unplugged that was odd)
BUT I am talking tour here! Nearly 70 bon jovi shows in and I HAVE NEVER seen anything like it!! It brings a tear to my eye just being SOO PROUD on how far he has come...
Ok off my soapbox now, I just hope people really understand WHAT AN HONOR it is for Chris to sing Blaze with Jon!! I LOVE IT, I wish they did it EVERY NIGHT!!

If other people want to be jerks, let them!!! Your experience sounded great, I'm just happy I was there with my friend, (qmoon), even though we weren't sitting together.
I met other DAUGHTRY fans this trip/concert; we got together at JP Looney's in Oak Ridge. Just wish I could have talked with each fan that was there for lunch.
Krista, BeBe, Pat and a few others whose names I can't remember; I apologize for not being able to talk to you longer.
TammyB, Brenda, Tammy's husband and Tammy's friend, GREAT to meet all of you, sorry, I'm not good with names:-(
The concert was even more than what has been said in the reviews!! It is so hard to describe, but what a concert!!!
Between Chris performing "Blaze" with Jon, OMG, and Jon with all his energy, going for 2.5 hours, WOW!!!
This was just an amazing experience!!!
Marianne, I'm looking forward to your pictures!!!
I'm so fortunate that other DAUGHTRY fans take such great pictures and are willing to share on this website!!!

(It was my first CD concert, I think he did a great job with JBJ, but by far last December was the best for me). He tore GBO up that nite and being the main band he played alot longer and interacted with his crowd more. But Chris is just awesome and hopefully will get to see him again soon.

My Review
Sorry it took so long for the review. I've been trying to recover from the concert
I read that a lot of people had so many problems getting there. I left at around 7pm, but I was staying at the Coliseum Inn [wish I knew how terrible that place was!] and I was lucky enough to go the way I went because the way they had you all going was just terrible. I got there and we all got our tickets and meet and greets and we were on our way. I proudly placed my meet and greet sticker on and some people asked me how lucky enough we were to have meet and greets and I proudly told them Joseph & I were in section 126 row EE seats 1 and 2. My brother and his girlfriend were in section 126 row CC, but I can't remember their seats. I was sitting two rows above Chris Daughtry's sister-in-law and didn't even know it!
When Daughtry came out and started playing "You Don't Belong", I seriously busted out into tears. I couldn't hold it any longer because I was overwhelmed that I was going to be meeting them. I had been waiting for this day for so long and I couldn't believe it was finally happening! I don't think that it was their best performance. I felt as if they were rushed [with only 40 minutes] and weren't able to connect to the audience like the usually do the past three times I've seen them. There were people standing up, but I am sad to say that I was the only person around me who was singing the lyrics to all their songs [when I could stop crying]. I know that Bon Jovi was the headliners, but I was there for Daughtry. I could just tell the atmosphere was not like a true Daughtry concert.
The meet-and-greet was absolutely AMAZING. We [Joseph, my brother, his girlfriend, and & I] were out of fifty people who got to meet them [I knew there would be a lot of people since it was a sold out show with 22,000 people there] and I must say it was the happiest day of my life. We went into this room and everyone was lined up. The guy said Daughtry would be out in a few minutes and he said he needed to get everyone's picture and etc. fast because Chris was going back out with Bon Jovi. The guy in front of me asked when was Bon Jovi coming out and announcer guy said in one minute. THE GUY HAD THE NERVE TO SCREAM LET'S GET THIS SHOW ON THE ROAD BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO MISS BON JOVI! He looked at me and asked me did I think Bon Jovi was going to come out with a old or new song and I looked at him said, "I'm really only here to see Daughtry and meet them." He looked at me like I just spoke hate words to him and just turned around and didn't say another word. I don't know who all these people were to meet Daughtry, but I don't think that people like that should be able to since there are SO MANY people who would KILL to meet them. It really did upset me and I couldn't help to get a little hateful. [Sorry for the rant]. Daughtry came out and I started shaking. When I got my chance to go up there I asked Chris could I hug him and he said of course! I hugged him and he asked my name and I told him. He asked me where I was from [I have a very thick Southern accent...been told by many it's the thickest they've ever heard] and I told him West Virginia. He said I love it and I said I love you! I thought that was funny. Anyways, we got out picture and I hugged Chris [again] and the rest of Daughtry. I've met so many bands and I have to say that they were the sweetest. I couldn't imagine having a better time meeting them and it seriously made my year/life. They are my favorite band and I cannot wait to see more of them!
I like Bon Jovi, but I'm not a big fan. I loved when Chris came out and sang "Blaze of Glory". Everyone went CRAZY! I see that a lot of people mentioned what Jon said about Chris and I think everyone around me either screamed or started crying. It seriously was so sweet. I think Bon Jovi did well, but I did get bored because they played 2 1/2 hours, but I must say their true fans NEVER got bored.
I will post more pictures and videos because I will be uploading them and I'll let everyone know.

I understand what you mean. They do have a huge catalog to choose from and should pull from there own a little more. I guess Jon justs like to shake things up a little.
I need to quit posting right after I have a gut reaction. I went back and read what I posted and I was on my soapbox again and don't mean to be. I just love Jon's version of Hallelujah so much, I went babbling,,,LOL!

...kept playing parts of the show all morning on Monday. So cool. I haven't seen a paper all week though. Will have to check them out when I get to work.
I can't believe it's over...I'm having withdraws!
Airlie, I'll send you a CD again when I go through my 400+ pictures. My Daughtry ones aren't that great--I was still figuring out my camera, and decided to enjoy the show instead of playing around with it.....
my input~
well... i was very disappointed with the concert.. Daughtry was awesome of course, but if you were behind the stage like i was.....it sucked cuz he never came around the back of the stage like Jovi did..and of course it woulda helped if daughtry coulda used the screens too! i was only 5 rows from the stage tho, very good seats, but oh well..
And why was daughtry only on for 40 minutes??? Dang, that's who i went to see cuz i'm not a big Jovi fan. I guess my expectations were a lil' high. i realize he was the opening act but it made it seen like he was an ameture or something with no more recognition than he got. Maybe it woulda been better if i was a Jovi fan also...not that he wasnt good, cuz he was great. I juss went to see Daughtry. So, i was a lil disappointed it didnt last any longer than it did. For any of you who seen him last year at the Lincoln Theatre... we're spoiled cuz nothin will ever compare to that concert!!!! it was awesome! but i'm still a die hard Daughtry fan...juss a lil sad it was over so soon!!!

jbjdaughtry1...
I am a HUGE fan of both Bon Jovi and Daughtry, i would just like it more if he would sing more of his own songs, some i liked some i didn't. I mean the guys have a bunch of songs they could have sung. I wish they would have sung "Never Say Goodbye". That would have been a perfect encore song.

Greensboro show...almost hard to put into words...
I feel like I keep using the same adjectives to describe the shows..awesome, great, super, etc. We need to make up some new ones...
This show was unreal...packed house...everybody screaming and singing..up on their feet!
Chris' voice as usual was perfection...YDB to open the show is powerful and I like the harder sound of it. WAN is one of my favorites and it was beautiful and we even got WTL too! Brian, JP, and Josh were rocking the best they could on that small stage..(sorry, but it WAS small...) and Joey was killing the drums!!
The crowd went wild when Chris joined Jon for BOG and it was crazy! After they sang. Jon gave a great speech that should make us all proud of Daughtry! Stayed for most of the JBJ show and really enjoyed it too!
Walking around the coliseum afterwards, Bebe and I ran into Steely and got pix made with him...he was friendly as could be and looked great too!

My 2 cents
Ok...I promised myself i would not keep talking about BJ since I am OBSESSED with Bon Jovi and a newbie with Chris but I have to comment on BJ being weak in the encore. I admit, maybe you not being a BJ fan you may not get it but not only is Jon a great showman,he can sing ANYTHING. He is one of a very few performers ever that can sing soul, rock, country, pop, R+B, etc. He puts his heart and soul into everything he sings. Did you actually listen to the words of Hallelujah and see the emotion Jon puts in it. He threw those other songs in for fun! Jon doesn't have to follow a setlist, he shakes it up for his fans. For those of us that have seen him more than a 100 times could care less to ever hear Wanted, Bad Name, Prayer again. We go night after night for the rare things he sings and does. I've seen Jon take requests literally off the floor, jump in the pits with the fans, jump in the front row with the fans, pull people on stage and do Conga line...whatever he is in the mood for. That is why he is the showman he is, that is why his tours are amazing year after year, decade after decade.
Chris is great, but I do agree with Lisa. He needs to work more on the showmanship aspect of connecting with the audience. Jon does have a way of making people swear that he sang that song to them even in the upper balcony. I also agree with Lisa, the 1st time I saw Chris at Tiger Jam until now, there has been a major transformation in Chris. He is moving around the stage more, interacting more, talking more. He is learning from the best of the best about the whole package. The business, the tour life, showmanship, etc. Chris and the guys will have a long career if they listen to Jon's advice.
Lisa G. ..
I didn't mean that it was weak in the meaning that he didn't sing it well or that it sucked or anything, but halleluya (i know that is wrong spelling) was very boring until the end, the only good and exciting song for me was Wanted Dead or alive. him running through the crowd was nice and everything, but still, i would rather him have sang songs that are his, and i know better. I didn't mean it was bad, he sang great, i just didn't like the songs, he had plenty of other songs of his to choose from. I agree with you, this was the greatest bon jovi concert i have ever been to, don't know how he does it still, He is a great performer and gets the crowd going, i am just sayin'.

Airlie...
The reason the article said that about Daughtry, and i do agree (and believe me on this, i am a crazy daughtry fan), Bon jovi is an established band that you could tell a huge difference from when jon did it from when Chris did it. Jon had everyone in the arena singing, while with chris, i think he should do that every once in a while, but not like he does with over you. Not EVERYONE (although a lot there did), know his and they people singing his songs was WAY less than bon jovi's. I would rather him sing the song himself especially Over you, because he goes to far by stopping and all of that. While Bon Jovi can do it and i see what you are saying that they both did, but the fact of the matter is everyone new the words to bon jovi's songs so you actually like it more, you get a feeling like you are seeing greatness when that happens and the WHOLE arena is singing like that, where i just kind of was out of it in over you when he stopped and the reaction from the croud was faint anyway. Just my opinion, but you Daughtryaholics (i claim to be one of them as i listen to him all the time), have to see past the point that he is great and realize that he is just starting and only has ONE album out. let people here the songs more and know the words before you do that. A lot of them there were Bon jovi fans and they didn't know the words also, although a lot of them did. I am just sayin'.

Jovi encore weak?? You are kidding me right??
This was the BEST I have seen BON JOVI YET this tour and it was show number 8 for me of the tour!! The encore was NOT even on the setlist! Glad all over and Treat her right were AMAZING and Jon running through the crowd to exit i a GREAT ENDING!! Especially since that was not the original ending, yes I saw the setlist!!! WHAT A SURPRISE! This was the first time I got to witness it this tour, as I was not in Chicago or Mohegan when they did it!
We all need to remember, Bon jovi has been in the business 25 years,, and headed to the rock hall in a year, 130 million albums sold NATIONWIDE!!
They are anything BUT WEAK!!
Its amazing how Jon connects with an audience, he makes everyone feel like he is singing to them!! That is one thing I think Chris needs to do a bit more of. I can already tell since the first show of the tour how Chris and the band are growing this tour!! That is NOT the same Daughtry I saw a year ago in a small club, they are evolving and improving EVERYDAY!!
Greenboro has been the BEST Jovi performance yet for me.
My Favorite Daughtry performance was Philly!! BOTH Philly shows!

Thanks for posting the News-Record review
I had read a few blurbs in the local newspaper while I was in Greensboro; but thought the part in the review that read "Unfortunately, he is already beginning to turn his radio favorites into concert singalongs, facing the mic toward the crowd and coaxing them to join in, which smacks of showbiz hokum," was a bit off, especially since Jon also coaxed the crowd into more applause quite often during the Bon Jovi performance. Hokum, indeed!!
Hey, if we are all having a GREAT time, what the heck!!
DAUGHTRY is a band, not just one man, soooooooooooooooo, if in a few years; or longer, DAUGHTRY has added even a small bit of the "showmanship" to their concerts that Bon Jovi utilized in their performance; DAUGHTRY will definitely be just as "big" if not bigger, than Bon Jovi.
ps I sat next to a few Bon Jovi fans who had never heard of DAUGHTRY, couldn't believe it, and they live in Greensboro!!

AMAZING! and another thing...
That seriously was the best concert i have ever been to! And to tell you the truth, we all get caught up in our love for daughtry so much, we forget about bon jovi along the way. Boy, what a TERRIFIC performer jon is. We had seats right by the backstage area and guess what guys...I got to touch Chris daughtry's hand! As he was leaving going out the exit, we were behind the stage kinda and the exit for him was right below us and he jumped up and touched our hands right their. Daughtry and Bon Jovi were both awesome although i must say that Bon jovi's encore was a little weak. But this is how you can tell the real difference between a legend and a future legend: when Chris sang, he had the crowd sing and they were and it sounded good, but when bon jovi did it, EVERY BODY and i mean every last one of the people new the words to the song. My point being, Daughtry will eventually get their (hopefully), but i think we all get a little too caught up in the hype of them, although they are GREAT, compared to a great band like Bon Jovi, they are nothing right now. They are headed in the right direction and i believe his concerts in the future will be like it was when bon jovi was on the other night.

First off, love the user name...hehe
Greensboro Coliseum policy is no professional camera's. Other than that they allow them.
I went to my first ever concert in Charlotte NC to see Toby Keith in 2004 (yes I am behind when it comes to being a concert go-er but I am hooked now, seeing all I can) I was so excited being my first concert and called the complex and asked about bringing a camera and they told me NO camera's allowed. Well that is ok, as long as my mind was good I would forever hold the memories....well I get there and EVERYONE had camera's! I asked a few how they got to bring camera's and when checked in they just checked their camera's and were told as long as it was not a professional one it was ok. I was so upset! So no photos of my first concert, but any way the next concert I ever went to was Chris Daughtry in Greensboro of Dec last yr. I took my camera and carried it in and so be if I was told I couldn't have it I would have took it back to my car, but no way from now on will I not take my camera to any concert I go to.
Take Care AuntDoDo....(i just love saying that)....LOL

thanks so much for sharing your pics and videos..I felt like I was right there, how do you guys get so lucky we were threatened to have our cameras taken away in NY,...
great job
Lisa.....
I know I was such a chicken goob...hehe. I thought to myself before the concert ever started and seen you standing there talking to the girls beside you which you were only 5 seats to the left of me, (I was in seat 7 row 4)....I thought to myself hmmm that looks like Lisa from Ohio, but there was prob no way out of 22,000 people I would see you not knowing where you would be seated. Like I said it was your glasses that threw me off, wasn't for sure if you wore glasses. Danial said he got behind you some where when he went to the restroom after Daughtry had finished and JBJ was setting up. He told me he thought about saying hey are you from ohio...hehe, but he didn't. Oh well, I hate I missed the chance of saying hello in person to you but at least I did get to see you and when CD & JBJ sand Blaze of Glory I thought to myself if that is Lisa, she is in heaven right now...as I was! If there ever is a next time and hopefully there will be, I promise I won't be a chicken goob...lol

Future Shows:
Indiana State Fair
Allegan Fair (MI)
The most amazing (and crazy) night of my life!
We had such a great time at the show, Chris and the guys looked and sounded great, as usual, and Bon Jovi was definitely an added bonus! I had no idea they would put on such a rockin' performance! I think Daughtry and Bon Jovi is a great combination! If you want to hear a crazy story, click on my profile and go to my blog and read about our wacky roadtrip to get to Greensboro! It was 9 wild hours involving Nascar, illegal driving, a police escort, car-switching, and the love and devotion of a wonderful husband...

I cant believe you stood behind me and never came up to me!!
You should have said hello!! I had a TON of people coming up to me that I didnt know that knew me last night. I would have loved to have met you!!
I didnt know where my seat was going to be until I got there! Was PLEASANTLY SURPRISED 3rd row on the aisle!!!
GREAT PICTURES BY THE WAY!!! The lighting for Bon Jovi was MUCH better!! I took some clips of Blaze and if security said anything to me I would have bitten their head off after how HORRIBLE they were last night! I didnt get Jons speech about Chris as I was in COMPLETE AWE and TEARS listening to him!!

You are welcome....
for the videos and thought I would post a couple of my JBJ & Daughtry pics. Thanks for your pics Lisa! You are right the lighting was just not that great for pics, but I was happy with the ones I got. Mine are from 4th row, just right behind Lisa!
Enjoy! I hope these fit correctly! Sorry if they turn out big or small....
