AN OPEN LETTER TO DEANNA
I had the the pleasure of meeting Deanna at the Redrock Hotel in August. After that meeting, I wrote this letter. I do know that she received a copy of the letter. But now, I would like to share it. I thought posting it would be a great way for ALL of us to let Deanna know how much we appreciate all that she, and the children, have given of themselves.
She is truly an amazing woman!!!
Here is my letter: Dear Deanna,
> They say Las Vegas is the City of Lights. To me last Wednesday, it was the City of Dreams. The lights were already shining - on a man with a voice that rocks to the soul & the woman by his side who has given so much of herself. And for me the dream was realized to be able to finally express what the last 12 months has brought me.
> To see you standing in the hotel lobby, I could only think what a beautiful woman you are. Not just outside (which you are!) but you radiate an inner beauty, strength, & calm. Your graciousness at suddenly being surrounded by this group of women was second only to your attentiveness!
> I know some of your story. Obviously a single mom of 2 when you married this wonderful man with a dream. A dream that you, unselfishly & lovingly , without question, encouraged him to pursue. And in the end, you encouraged him to pursue that dream, knowing that it would take it him away from you & the children. A sacrifice not many wives can or are willing to make.
> My dream has been to let Chris know how he & his music have brought so many of us together - total strangers who have now become the best of friends. We come from all across the country, all ages, married/not, kids/no kids, grandkids! But we are not really strangers - we all have 1 thing in common: we love Chris, his voice, his music, how he reaches out thru that music & touches our lives. And that was the story I got to tell you. How my friend, Lynne, that I met on-line, & I had made plans for her to come from Massachusetts to visit me in Indiana & go see Daughtry/NB. That the Monday before the concert, my dad passed away, but Lynne still came - I needed her to come then more than ever.
> Funny thing is - I had a chance earlier in the day that I probably could have told that story to Chris. I had a chance meeting by an elevator. Just me. I couldn't say a word. But....It wasn't meant to be. YOU were the one that was supposed to hear that story!! YOU get it, as you said Chris is a little clueless - but we love him anyway!
> Deanna, words cannot describe what I felt in my heart after meeting you. I know I can safely say I speak for all of us in that group: You are a beautiful, loving, caring woman. Your love for Chris lights up your face.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I just wrote what was in my heart!!! I know how lucky I am to have been able to meet & actually talk with Deanna!! I wish everyone could have that chance! And she is just like she is in the video you posted!! I love that vid!! So glad you posted that!!!
As to how Chris & Deanna met.....seems like I heard somewhere they met at a party?? Anyone else remember????

You did a truly wonderful job in writing that letter! She truly is along with Chris one of the beautiful souls in this world! I pray they both stay that way even with all the fame! Anyway also just wanted to say you know you have to be a beautiful good person yourself to sit down and write a letter like that to Deanna, not many people have or would at least not that I have seen....
Deanna has supported Chris all the way and she has let him follow his dreams! I am going to post the video of that moment below of Deanna talking about Chris and how she just wants so much for him because she felt he sacrificed so much for her! These two love each other so much its just so beautiful to see!

Glad you stumbled here!! We just want to show Deanna that we love her too!!! AND appreciate all that she & the kids have to give-up. And not just Chris's family, but Josh, JP, & Brian's families as well!!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for writing this letter to Deanna.
I will speak for myself in saying, this truly is how I feel about Deanna, but you have been able to put on paper what I was not able to. Every time I watch the video of Deanna talking about Chris during his A.I. audition, again, I have to fight back the tears.
Chris and Deanna are truly an incredible couple.
Thank you Deanna for supporting him in his private life, while we, the fans, support him in his public life.

AGAIN, EVERYONE!!! I think for ALOT of us it's that "family man" image of Chris - and JP, Josh, & Brian-that make us love them all the more!!!
That VIP experience was ABSOLUTELY THE BEST!! It was funny - it was almost 1 YEAR to the day that I met Deanna & almost 2 YEARS to the day that I first saw Chris - AT THE SAME VENUE!
BTW = drunk-on-daughtry...I was at Birdy's too!!!! Good times, huh?!!!

I'm glad to see this near the top again...I agree with everyone and what a great story!!! I remember seeing Deanna on the idol clip way back when, wishing Chris the best because of all the sacrifices he has made. Well, she is just as worthy of our praises! I respect this band for a million reasons but one big one is their loyalty to family. My family is my world and it's nice to know that even with all the success, Chris feels the same way about his family! I respect him all the more because of it! Thanks to Daughtry...the family

Isn't that just that one of the reasons we love/respect/admire him so much.
And what a lovely reply from the heart from him.
And see this thread is almost a year old - doesn't seem that long since it started. And what an amazing thread it's been too, full of wonderful tributes to Deanna.
Do hope that at some time she and/or Chris have got to read it.

It is TRULY touching to see how many of us love and respect Deanna, her marriage to Chris, and the sacrifices she has made. I had the great opportunity to do the VIP experience in Aug this year when Daughtry played the Indiana State Fair. I managed to show Chris the picture of Deanna giving me a hug - I told him I had had the pleasure of meeting her the year before in Vegas. He replied "I know, she told me all about it"!!! I almost did the ugly cry!!! I said to him - "You are ONE LUCKY MAN!" He smiled, that big, melt-you-on-the-spot smile and said "Don't I know it!!!"
CHRIS, DEANNA - If you happen to read this - hope you got to enjoy some time together with each other & the kids!! WE LOVE YOU BOTH!!!

this is the first time I've read this letter and I agree wholeheartedly with EVERYTHING it says about what an amazing person Deanna is. I'm not going to pretend like I know her as I've never met her, but I myself was a single mother when my husband and I got together (my son was 8 months old) and my husband was FINALLY able to adopt him when he was 10 years old, so the situation of Deanna and Chris is near and dear to my heart. I just wanted to stop by and if she reads this, say thank you for sharing your time with your husband with all of us fans. We are all truly greatful and I hope that now that they are finished with this tour that you get to spend the time with him that you so very much deserve. Thanks again for your truly remarkable sacrafice.

Deanna, you are so fabulous yet you're so approachable unlike so many celebritys' wives. Both you & Chris have a genuine closeness to the fans and you achieve that without the "Love-the-fans-but I'm-better-than-you" haughty attitude that many celebs have. Love you much! ((HUGS))

So many emotions going on in my heart right now. I've always wanted to write how much I love & admire Deanna for who she is to Chris and can't help but agree with you rock mama Deanna that she is a generous woman for sharing her precious hubby with us.
Chris is so free to be himself all the time - on stage & off it that its obvious he has the best support system ever - Deanna. Chris & Deanna's love truly lights up the world. Its just simply beautiful. I have been watching the clip of Chris' audition & loving how the two of them are together (sigh!) It's a beautiful sight.
Before my ramblings become too much let me appreciate you for being you & for who you are to Chris. Hope you will be together forever & please know that I'm always praying for you.

P.S: My favourite part of any interview that Chris does is where he says, "Deanna and the kids..." I just love that & it always brings tears of love joy n happiness to my eyes.

It's all in innocent fun...it's just that so many of us can't get enough of hearing THAT VOICE live - and now we've all become friends too - so it gives us something to do for an awesome girls night out!
Enjoy having him HOME for a while!!!!!

I am at awe with this letter and amazed that you got to meet Deanna. I think too she has to have the patience of a saint and such love for her husband. I did get to meet Chris with my 2 boys' 1 who has autism and Chris agreed to meet him alone. And he is just so pure and genuine, but of course I do not think that with out his beautiful encouraging wife we would ever be able to have this love for Chris. I am so thankful to her for encouraging Chris to reach for his dreams and stand by her man. Thank you Deanna for sharing one of the most talented people to have ever lived with the world.

It's so great to see this amazing couple come through everything together. It is awesome how Chris can be such a true rock star with enormous talent, and still be such a family man too. That's why I love this band so much. They are such great guys with such great families!!

I hadn't really been over here in such a long time - it was SO GREAT to see some new posts!! Thank you all for your kind words. I just wrote what was in my heart, what IS IN ALL OUR HEARTS! That we appreciate Deanna as much as Chris b/c of her sacrifice! I do know that she HAS read this letter & I am pretty sure Chris has read it too. But I am glad we didn't lose it when the site was having problems!!
