My sister got me and my other sister a ticket for X-Mas and I was so excited to see Daughtry and Bon Jovi. I had to update my sisters on Daughtry's music but they loved them just like I do. The concert was amazing besides the fact that we were sitting by a girl that puked (she had a few too many) and a bunch of boring old people. But anyways, I can only imagine how the front row felt. Hopefully next time I see Daughtry, I can be a lot closer.

Okay, so I personally did NOT win the VIP.. My mother did!! But she was more interested in letting me go than her because of how much I LOVEEE This bad. What a FANTASTIC mom, right?! So instead of me going with her, she thought me and my 20 yr old cousin Alexa (makesmesmile1022) would get more enjoyment out of it! So with that being said... here we go!

I would also like to start this by saying I went thru HELL to get to this and it was THE MOST AMAZING NIGHT.. EVER. Even though the only played 6 or 7 songs.. it was soo great.

So we were told to get to the United Center @ 5:30 to pick up our tickets/passes at will call.. so we did.. and the guy was a complete JERK && said he didnt have them and we had to get them inside and we werent supposed to be there til 6... so we waited in the cold.. so worth it! I thought the M&G was BEFORE the show but once the doors opened at a little after 6, it was beyond crazy inside.. and there was no place for the Daughtry VIPs to go.. so we had to wait and finally we talked to the lady at will call inside and she got us our passes, tickets, and a slip of paper telling us when/where to go for the m&g.

So we get our tickets and sit down in section 112.. row 10 or something.. and were enjoying ourselves (it was off to the side of the stage but not too bad!) then about ten minutes before Daughtry comes on.. this guy and girl come up to me and my cousin and introduce themselves (Shaba and Molly) as managers and told us they were taking us to better seats.. We're thinkin "Sweet ! Front row!"

they take us off to the pit off to the left of the stage and say "See that platform attached to the stage right there?" We said yeah.. and they're like "Okay once the intro gets started, you ladies are standing up there" I was in COMPLETE shock and was like "Uhh for what?" and theyre like "For Daughtrys whole performance!" So we stood and talked to Molly and stuff..
Then we hear everyone cheer so we looked over and the guys were coming out.. they moved us to the platform and I freaked out.. I saw Steely first about 5 ft from me.. then when I saw Chris I almost lost it. IT WAS GREAT. I knew every single word to "You Dont Belong" and the new dancing that man does, oh my geez .

He looked over at me.. and saw me singing the words.. and he winked.. and pointed and smiled..

Every song went beautifully.. and when Chris stopped singing for the crowd to sing.. they were LOUD. It was awesome.. Im excited for them! and it was pretty well packed for DAUGHTRY.

During Feels Like Tonight, Chris came over to where I was and got RIGHT in front of me and waited for me to take a picture.. And Steely also posed for a picture for me..

After the show as the guys were walking off, Shaba came and got us and I was walking down and Alexa was behind me and Chris stopped her and handed her 5 guitar picks for us!

Shaba led us down to where the guys would be going and when we walked in we met Steely who congratulated us and I told him he was amazing.. then we had to wait by a room til the guys came out.. Chris came out and was talking to us.. apologized to me for "smelling like ass" and gave me a hug.. shook hands.. congratulated us..just talked for awhile.. and my cousins like "Can we get pictures with you guys" and he said "Nope, Im just here to look pretty!" and so he grabbed me and we took a picture.. then I talked to Steely and told him to come here for a minute for a picture.. and we just kinda stood and hung out for awhile.. got a group picture with the whole band.. and somehow Joeys finger was gushing blood and JP had his hand wrapped in a towel.. I dont really know what happened because the rest of the m&g winners came down and lined up and the guys went in a room.. we were allowed ONE thing autographed so I opened my cd case and they all signed the insert except Joey who signed the CD.. I walked in there and said "Woah you guys look awfully familar" and Chris goes "Yeah.. we're kind of a big deal.."..

So then we got all of our stuff and got escorted out.

It was flat out amazing and i couldnt ask for anything more.. except a little more time with the guys maybe because afterwards I thought of so many things I wanted to say/ask. But I know theyre very busy and understand that. Even with the short amount of time I was grateful beyond belief and I thank ALL of the guys, Managers, Crew, EVERYONE. I especially want to thank RCATarek for helping us out so much and RCAKaren for answering a couple questions before hand on the site.

Thank you all for this amazing opportunity.. never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be meeting DAUGHTRY.. let alone STANDING ON STAGE WITH THEM!

Once again THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Yup, that was us!!! GREAT SHOW!

First of all...LISA...WOW! Great pics! Nice view! Well done!!!

So, we get there and get into our seats for the first song...the new one "You Don't Belong" ...which I LOVE btw, and we are going NUTS because, well, they just do that to us...then our fun was interrupted when we were told we were in someone elses seats, and had to move one section over. Wrong staircase. Ooopsies. UGH! It is hard to see in the dark! So off to our seats. I liked our first ones better. Luckily we were in a spot where we could stand, scream and not annoy too many people! YAY!!!

We used mood lighting and blood curdling screams to show our love! And as Tiff will tell you, in our section, the people were watching US and not the show. TURN AROUND AND WATCH THEM!!!! There were a lot more people in their "seats" than I expected (based on earlier reviews). Maybe 92% full ??? lol That's just an estimation.

By the end of their set, I do think a lot of Jovi fans were getting into it. They did their job. They warmed up the crowd. Next time...introduce yourselves!! Heck, it is your moment to SHINE!

Jon really does know how to work the crowd and gets every inch of the stadium involved. I am not a huge fan (I like the 80's stuff) but you have to be in good aerobic condition to keep up with him! There was some serious hand pumping and jumping going on! BOUNCE! lol

Finally, best part about Jovi ...Richie's solo. He sang and played (btw he is GREAT!!!) while Jon had a wardrobe change...and he ROCKS. His voice is SOLID and strong!!!

Can't wait for tomorrow! Hope to see some of you there!

The guys totally rocked! They were absolutely amazing......I saw that Chris kept spraying some stuff into his throat - so it may be sore- but you never would have known by the amazing voice that he had. Truly, they were awesome! I went down to the second row for their set then went back to my "normal" seats for BJ...... I was glad to see that there were LOTS of people theres to see them- and were loving the guys as well!!!

I am still so tired, couldn't sleep on the plane back home..but loved it! SO SO SO glad that There and Back Again was back!!!! WOO HOO!!!! Loved the new song...completely amazing guys!!!! I can not wait to see you again! Thanks for such an amazing kick ass show!

kmshep they have never ever given Bon Jovi a good review in Chicago go figure..I have been seeing them since 1986 and I can not remember one time where a Chicago paper has given them a good review but I don't care anymore I know the fans have an super amazing time at Bon Jovi shows!!!
I think they just might be jealous and oops they picked on Daughtry too F*Ck (the reviewer) they will be around for 25 years plus too.

Yeah and for some reason I thought I would be home by 11:00 amazing to see they still can perforn shows of 2 hrs and 30 minutes.and yes this time I was kind of winded as I did actually scream for the opening band too! LOL Daughtry was amazing it was funny the older couple next to me at the end of Daughtrys set asked was that thee Chris Daughtry..LOL
She had just seen the word Daughtry on the posters and such for Jovi but never put two and two together so I am sure they will have even more fans now.

Only the 5th show into this tour too so both sets should get better. I am wondering how much both bands hang out together what a good looking group!!!!This has to be quite an adventure for the Daughtry boys.

hmmm should I buy tickets for tomorrow night now that is the question LOL

I loved loved loved this show!!!!!!!!!! I thought Chris was amazing! I had seen comments about earlier shows (different cities) where Daughtry had a tiny space to perform but here in Chicago they had the same space as Bon Jovi. Chris nailed every tune. I had seen the new song on YouTube and wasn't really sure about it until I heard it last night. He has such passion. I loved it.

I was there for Daughtry but I was amazed at Bon Jovi too. Jon has so much energy it was insane. I was ready for oxygen an hour in to his show and they played almost 2.5 hrs. Of course I had danced and rocked like a mad woman all through Daughtry

I was completely shocked when I read the Chicago Tribune review this morning. He had gone to the Saturday night show and totally ripped Bon Jovi and Daughtry. I don't know how anyone could not have been won over by the energy of the crowd and the energy on the stage from both bands.

Some of you are saying Chris was sick Saturday so maybe he wasn't at his best. I wish this writer had seen them last night cause they were literally flawless.

So glad I got to be there.

Chris...if you are bored in Chicago today, drop me a line!!!!!!

BTW, no Dead or Alive together this time.

As always, Daughtry ROCKED this venue. I had an awesome time in the front row. I was on Josh Steelys side of the stage. Sorry, but I dont have any pictures because I dont like to bother with my camera during the show, because i dont want to miss anything. Im not even sure I blinked throughout the whole show. LOL

The meet and greet (I won from the charity buzz auction) was honestly over in about 30 seconds--Way Too Short. During the meet and greet, I learned something spectacular about Chris, and it made me respect him about 100 times more. -What a Great Guy!
They are all a great group of guys!
I also wished Daughtry would have performed longer. There were alot more songs I wanted to hear.

Bon Jovi, of course also Rocked. Jon has sooo much energy during his performance(dancing and bouncing around on stage), I dont know how he does it. LOL He is very entertaining and he know how to pump up the crowd. I was exhausted after his 2 hour + performance(from screaming, dancing, etc...)

IS BACK ON THE PLAY LIST!!! At least it was tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Me, Lj and Cam were already jumping around and flailing... but we LOST IT when we heard the song we thought was cut... YAY!!!

(On a quick side note... WHERE IS THE BLUE GUITAR!!! lol It has always been a special treat ... every show, that guitar hits the stage and I think, Ohhhhhhh Ahhhhh it is a work of art and I miss it!!! If There and Back Again can be added back into the show can the guitar?)

Chris must have gotten some good antibiotics yesterday because he was back on his game, not that he was off before, but lastnight when he did FLT I felt sooo bad because he sounded like he was hurting...I dont know how noticable it was for everyone else... but as a fan who has been to as many shows as I have I could see a def difference in his performance... last nights show was NOT bad... but tonight... DAMN THE MAN IS BACK. I would say almost tip top... 96%

They started on time, from where I was the sound was GREAT!!! No sound probs, guitars werent too loud, Chris wasnt too quiet... I think our guys have hit their stride!!!

This show was the best to date... Chris said we were a good crowd. People kept watching us and we were yelling turn around and look at them! The chicks next to us wanted pics with us... lol They said we were a lot of fun... I told them when to put there booze down and CLAP... lol And told them to jump for TABA. Those Jovi girls are converts now.

And... I actually stayed for Jovi, until the song before encore... Not to take anything from them... it just obviously IS NOT my thing... I dont get it and I honest to God tried. I will say that Ritchie (sp?) did a solo... wow... NOW THAT I LIKED! Jon works the crowd really well. But I have to say... I keep hearing over and over and OVER again... "Chris/Daughtry can really learn a lot from Jovi"... I think, and this is just my opinion... I think that performance wise, if they must "learn" from anyone that could be Chad Kroeger/NB... he has an AMAZING stage presence and he does it very subtle, none of those aerobic jump dance moves ... more rock... less cheese. If that makes any sense... I am on 4 hours of sleep in the last 3 days... I might sound like I am on crack who knows??? maybe I will edit myself tomorrow... lol I have all day in a city I hate. Cant wait for Tuesdays show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just got home, and all I have to say is "WOW!" I am so pleased, it was amazing! The new song was out of this world, and everything else was just how I imagined it would be (and remembered from the Rockford show!) I took so many pictures and they will be up soon, but now it is time to get some shut eye...

Ive went through so much chaos with this but I think its safe to say it was well worth it. I just recieved an email saying my daughter and I should be all set and management will contact us before the show... So my guess is we won?? OR they just want to review the situation we have.. with missing the email and such.. Either way Im appreciative. This will make my daughters dreams come true even though now we have 2 extra tickets! If this all means we won, then thanks to you all for the congratulatory wishes. I bought my daughter a DAUGHTRY cd yesterday since she left hers at home.. so she can get it autographed by the guys so Im glad we won. haha.
