A simple question or two..........If careful steps have to be taken and careful negotiations have to be made to get an artist on SNL, why is a new Idol on the show on Nov. 1 and Daughtry is not and on it only once in a cameo? If the timing isn't right to get Daughtry on SNL, when was the time right? Nothing personal towards Cook, but Chris is an established award winning artist.

So it is easier to get a new singer on SNL than the best selling artist of 2007, an artist who has broken numerous records???

I think we've already accepted that they can't be guests right now because it's too late and well the season is gonna end in 6 weeks anyway and the guests have already been announced so no point really. It would make more sense if they do it for the 2nd album. Just in time! SNL comes back this Spring 09... *wink, wink* We were just wondering why they haven't appeared BEFORE especially during the peak of the first album. Tons of oppurtunities there. 2 years of missed opportunity actually. Kind of sad that you guys lost the bid for them but you won the bids for the other RCA artists (for plum spots too I might add). Does that mean that RCA was not willing to shelf more money for Daughtry before that's why RCA lost? Say it ain't so! Haha, maybe we can pitch in a few hundreds of thousand dollars so you're sure to win next time? Hey, maybe the extra money can give them the "host" spot instead of just the "musical guest" spot. Haha, I'm just kidding. Well, not really. Anyway, we just think that they deserve it and they're at equal levels (maybe even more) at the other RCA artists that RCA has booked SNL gigs for. I agree BTW about the emails. They probably won't do anything much as the guests and hosts are determined by the money exchanged between NBC and the label/management anyway. BTW, as an SNL fanatic, I'm almost sure Carrie appeared two seasons back to back.

Hey gang, how's it going?

As Deanna mentioned in this post about our recent PMs, we are simply not pitching Daughtry for an SNL appearance right now because the strategic timing isn't ideal.

For starters, the band is in the studio working on that album we're all waiting for, and wouldn't interrupt their creative groove even if we DID ask them to be on SNL.

Aand secondly, as those of you who watch SNL regularly know all too well, they don't invite the same artist back every other week, never mind every other season.

So we would rather entertain such an opportunity when there's a new record in stores, than at this time - simple as that.

Having said that, we can't thank you enough for your requests to SNL for Daughtry to appear. Just please keep in mind that no amount of email terrorism will do the trick, in fact it would only hurt the band - as Deanna also relayed from our chat.

So leave it to us and, come next year; I promise you that will be talking to our contacts at SNL about getting Daughtry on the show.

Let us know if you have any questions and we'll do our best to address them, and thanks as always for your passion for Daughtry.

For RCA to use the lame excuse that Daughtry doesn't have time to do SNL because they are recording, puhleeze. If that is the real reason why they are not on SNL then why or how could Chris do the spot on CSI-New York or do the Charity Concert with Rob Thomas????!!

Bottom line RCA did not want to pay the cash to have them on SNL. If they did they would have been on there by now. This just shows me how RCA really feels about the guys and how the guys always manage to get pushed to the back seat everytime!!!!

There have been plenty of opportunities in that time span for an appearance.

Just recently Chris took time out of recording to film an appearance on CSI. It's not as if they are recording 24 hours in the day. A couple hours on SNL is nothing.

The blunt truth is that RCA didn't want to pay the cash. If they'd wanted to, the band would have been on.

I don't know why exactly Daughtry hasn't been on SNL yet but I think that RCA did bid to get them on and maybe because they were touring so much it didn't fit into Daughtrys' scheduling plans. I know Ed told me that Daughtry couldn't do the show now because they are too busy recording and will probably will have a better chance when the new CD comes out. I think it was just a timing thing. I'm sure when the time comes if we all write or e-mail SNL again to request them to be on they will have their chance. I don't know how the 'bidding' thing works but I'm sure everyone involved with Daughtry will do thier best to help'our guys" along. I will find out if you all want me to-let me know what ya think. You submit a bid and the highest bidder gets the gig. Which means evidently RCA doesn't feel Daughtry is worth the money since they never submitted high enough to be accepted.

Kind of puts into perspective how they view the guys, doesn't it?

I heard about David Cook doing SNL. I am bummed that Daughtry hasn't been asked to do that show. Hopefully Daughtry will get an opportunity to do SNL. We just got to kepp plugging!!

Care about SNL, never watch it. But I do know a lot of people wanted this for the guys, it's considered a "prestigious" thing to do though I'm not sure really why that is when acts booked usually go to the highest bidder which has nothing to do with prestige and more to do with cold hard cash. All that's beside the point though.

Fact of the matter is people have performed on there with old albums. And evidently RCA is willing to put down cash for every other person on the label including those that have been no mark in the music industry yet. But not their best seller in the U.S. in the last couple of years.

I personally don't care if they ever do the show, but I do know a lot of fans do and they feel pretty hurt, frustrated and angry to name a few emotions and they've every right to feel that way for the injustice being exhibited here.

At this point I really don't think there is anything RCA could say or do to convince me they have this band's best interests at heart.

i'm beginning to get very upset at rca, what is their problem!!! daughtry is big time selling artist!!!! not to mention all the achievements and breaking record history!!!!! i like david cook, but why not daughtry they are long overdue for snl!!!! rca needs to step up and give daughtry their time on snl!!!!

Seems like David Cook has landed a gig with SNL. Isn't RCA Josh running Cook's official site??? Maybe he can give us some advice on how to get Daughtry on SNL. With this being Election year, Daughtry doing FLTFT for CNN's First Time Voter Campaign and all the attention SNL is getting with Tina Fey's Sarah Palin impression, don't you think it would have been a great idea to get the guys on SNL????!!!! I know these things costs money but they had money for the newest American Idol Winner wouldn't it have made more since to plug Daughtry and FLTFT being that it is the Saturday before election day and this is the theme song for CNN's First Time Voter's campaign-WTH?????!!!!

I'm wondering why they said that SNL only accepts artists that have new albums out. Adele will be appearing next week and her album was released last January! That's not a new album! And how sad that RCA lost their bid for Daughtry considering they won their bid for their other artists like Clay Aiken, Kelly Clarkson and now David Cook. Maybe next time, RCA can have a bigger budget to bid for Daughtry? I think they deserve it. It's quite sad when you have a band that's already 4X Platinum with 5 hit singles but their label can't even afford to get them a SNL gig. While we're at it maybe they can host too. Just kidding! We'll be patiently waiting next year!

I am sure RCA should be able to get DAUGHTRY on it and best of all they don't have to worry about any lip synching gaffes! Come on RCA got Kelly and Carrie on they should know how much they would need to bid and should be able to get Chris and the guys on. It's not like their album only sold 4 copies, there are several zero's attached to that number I believe.

As far as Daughtry not having an album to promote....guess that answers why there is NO promotion for the Deluxe Edition, it's not viewed as a "New Album". That explains everything.

Again I want to thank everyone for standing up for me and for the kind words! The deluxe set maybe new but still consists of the original CD, so I guess to them it doesn't count. RCA Ed did say that the band couldn't do the show now anyway because they are soooooo busy with the new CD! At this point I think all we all can do is write in now or later or both(if you want to) and see what happens. I'm sure all the people at RCA, and especially Daughtry, will appreciate that Daughtry fans are so supportive to the band. I think-no scratch that-I KNOW Daughtry fans can get this done,as well as the donation drive for ONE. Deanna, thanks so much for finding out these new info! You rock!!! I guess SNL changed their rules because I'm pretty sure Carrie was already on her 4th single for her first album when they had her so she's definitely not promoting a new album. Bummer! It's all good though - I don't mind waiting as long as RCA can get the boys there to promote the 2nd album! Hopefully, they get the bid the next time. I'm getting excited just thinking about it!

We probably need to be super nice and go easy with the requesting though. The media people can be pricks sometimes and if they get pissed at us (like that annoying lady you talked to), they might be more hesitant to invite our boys.

I recieved a PM from RCA Ed and he said that they have bidded for Daughtry to be on the show before also. SNL won't put artists on unless they are promoting a new album,so Daughtry has a better chance of being put on when the new CD comes out and they can promote it. I told Ed that we would be writing into the show anyway,both now ,and in the future to show support for the band. He was happy that we were supporting Daughtry. Ed did say that the band was hard at work on the album and probably wouldn't be able to do the show anyway-which is totally understandable. I think we should write into SNL and say we hope they will consider putting the guys on when the new CD comes out and write in again when it actually does come out. What do you all think? I did send all the RCA 'heads' PMs' with our request for the band and did so for ALL the fans. I know I did not come up with the idea to have Daughtry on SNL and thank the ones who did come up with it! When I contacted RCA and SNL, I did not take any credit for this myself,but did it for all the Daughtry Official website fans, and made that clear to them. OMG Deanna that woman did not sound very nice. She sounded kind of rude and impolite. I am surprised she gave you an address at all. Don’t know why she had to be so negative and try to bring you down b/c that’s not cool. So you another trick up your sleeve? Well I hope it works better than the phone call did. Thanks for sharing the address with us here though so we can bombard them together. They’re not going to know what hit them if we all work together. Way to be a trooper and sorry everyone you talked to was so rude. I don’t have respect for those people at all. I just spoke to someone at SNL and she told me that the show will not take any phone call requests or ideas pertaining to the show ,so I asked if there was any way we could write or e-mail the show to express our desire to have Daughtry on. She would not give me the e-mail address but said we could write to the show but did not think it would make a difference-I beg to differ!! She and SNL have NO idea how we Daughtry fans are! I think that right now is a great time to keep the love rollin for this band. Yes, I think artist usually go on there to promote their new CD...I think there is a lot of life left in this first CD and they are working on the 2nd, perhaps playing this next single to be released or a song from the new CD????

AND yes the guys could take over the whole show, host and musical...why not????? This is a band of major personality, not to mention how great they look
