Chris' 2nd Annual Birthday ONE Donation Project
This is so important that Jill, Val, and I are posting it in this thread and the Chris and music threads. We don't want anyone to miss it.
Lady Val, Jill_C, and I have the honor and are so excited to begin the ONE Daughtry Project again this year. In honor of Chris’ Dec. 26th birthday, we ask you to donate to ONE.
The What About Now video has been a god-send to so many. What a poignant picture it paints of global poverty. But it doesn’t stop there. It proceeds to encourage us that we can be the difference. Wherever I have shown it, it has brought tears to people’s eyes - to groups of adults in schools, who in turn showed it to groups of students. The WAN video touches hearts and provokes thought in a way few others have.
Chris and Daughtry have done so much for us and for the world. They have unselfishly given of themselves - their time, their money, and their hearts. They have changed our Daughtry-Lifer lives.
Now it is time to give back, to say thank you to Chris and, at the same time, give to those whom Chris cares so much about….those in dire need.
Last year our project raised over $2000. This year our goal is $10,000. Yes, a 10 and three zeroes. We believe if we start now, we can do this – for Chris and for those enduring the ravages of global poverty.
After making your donation, PM me the amount and the Reference Number and/or Authorization Code in your confirmation email from ONE. It will not be shared with anyone. We will then send a birthday card to Chris with only the total amount and each donor’s name and/or screen name. Please indicate which you prefer. The last day for donations will be Dec.19.

For all that Chris had given us, this is the LEAST we can do to thank him, so get over there and give til it hurts! You'll never feel better than you will after you've helped someone in need AND given Chris a birthday gift that really means something to him

I just donated!! Woohoo! It feels so good! This donation comes after my donation to St. Jude's, and this weekend I am going to go buy a whole bunch of food to make up Thanksgiving baskets for a bunch of our patients (who are low/no income).. It feels so good to be able to do something like this for other people! There are so many out there that suffer each and everyday. I work in a Dr.'s office where we see alot of these people everyday, it reminds you of what you have and what you should be thankful for... I hope everyone donates..

That felt GREAT!
I am going to donate right now! I keep telling myself next time I get online I'll do it, but I guess I'll just keep telling myself that until I actually do it. So here I go! (^._.^)
I can't believe we are only at $1700. I mean it is a great start and I know times are tight, believe me, but only 400 people have to donate $25 for this goal to be reached. $25! Drink coffee from home instead of Starbucks, bring your lunch instead of eating out, etc. There are so many ways to come up with $25. As Jill has clearly shown, these people really need everything and anything we can give them. Everything that we take for granted, the little things from clean clothes on our backs, to a food on the table every night (even when you wish you could just go out instead of cook)....you have the food to make a great meal!
I know Jill said that you don't get anything out of it other then the feel good feeling after you donate, but you do get your name on a card right? It's one thing to feel like you donate and that its, but Chris will see your name, knowing that you care just as much as he does about ONE. He knows we love him, but what better way to SHOW him then doing something in honor of him!?! Getting a card filled with names of fans he has touched in such a way, they want to give back? It's not about fame and fortune for these guys; they do everything they can to give back every chance they get!
This is our way to show and thank Chris for everything he has given us fans. The girls have made it so easy to donate, we just need to come through for Chris like he has for us. I donated a couple months ago (the first time I have ever donated), but will try to get another round in before the deadline! Come on Daughtry fans, let's getting donating! Even if you can only do $1 at a time, it is still $1.

Though the question on global poverty was not asked by Jim Lehrer in the last presidential debate, ONE is tryng again, this time with Tom Brokaw - who will be moderating the next debate on October 7th.
The new goal is to gather 150,000 signatures!
